Light, comfortable, nice ergonomics, well balanced, fun and accurate to shoot. I could shoot all day and never wear myself out. Shot it with a variety of 22 brands and not a single MF. 22LR is dirty though so I make sure to clean at least the barrel after every shoot (100-150 rounds avg.) probably an overkill but hey, why not?!
The star of the show is the take down! It cannot be easier than this.
Few nit picks (hence the 4 Stars):
1. The trigger reset: long travel, I would've hoped for a shorter, tighter travel
2. Slide: not very comfortable for your fingers to pull back and release. It's a weird design as opposed to a conventional slide.
3. Mag availability: Be careful when buying extra mags from local stores, though they could say Ruger Mark IV on the package, they may not indicate "Lite" and fit this model. though the mags are the same, there appears to be a variety of Well designs for the different Mark IV models: Hunter vs Standard vs Lite and so on.
I put a box of 325 rounds though it. I like the fit in my hand and the 1911 style. Having the color makes it stand out and while it might not be for everyone I like it. I think it's kinda fun for a plinker. I used it for some gun handling and marksman drills. It worked great.
I received this about 2 weeks ago and I've taken it to the range once and so far so good. Will be taking it again this week to get better familiar with it. Not sure why I waited to get a 22 caliber pistol. And the Ruger MK4 is a perfect choice for me.
